Angelica, Guss, and baby Reid's HypnoBirth
Dear Danielle,
Now that we have had a few weeks to settle into our new life as a family of three I wanted to take a few minutes to share our birth story with you.
We are so grateful for the hypnobirthing program and for your guidance through it. It may have been the statistics that enticed me, but it was your approach to teaching, the education we got from the book and the regular practice that convinced me that I was designed to do this with my baby!
Labor started at 12:39am on Monday, June 26. Reid joined our family at 4:58pm that same day. While I didn’t get a lot of sleep that night but it wasn’t due to pain, it was because I was busy watching to the clock trying to determine if this was the real thing. At 4am I decided I should have a sandwich just in case it was. I managed a nap, spent a few hours in the hammock chair under my tree with Guss and rocked on my ball a bit before my water broke at 10:15am, which confirmed that I was indeed in labor. When we arrived to the hospital around noon I was pleasantly surprised to find out I was 8.5 – 9 cm. The next 2 hours were spent in the tub getting to 9.5 and the final two hours were spent achieving the last .5cm and giving birth.
I had a bit of an unexpected obstacle that did cause me some pain. It wasn’t the contractions and I was able to navigate that pain by repositioning . All in all the experience was exactly what we’d hoped for. We laughed. We listened to Rainbow Relaxation. We focused on breathing. We did it as a family! If I had it to do all over again I would do it exactly the same.
Thank you for instilling us with the knowledge and the confidence to face childbirth naturally with preparedness to accept anything that came our way.
Much love and gratitude,
Angelica, Gus & Baby Reid
